"Cherries"

The cherries for the cherry pie recipe series are all stitched and ready to go! Very exciting!
In order to create the kit for the cross stitch for each pattern, I have to have the piece stitched to photograph for the front of the package. I am including the painting and the finished stitched piece to show the wonderful transition that happens when needle and thread enter the scene!

I am assembling the ingredients for the Cherry Pie series!
Here is one salt painting- do you get "Salt" from this painting?

Stitching progress!

This is the geranium half way completed by one of my fabulous stitchers! You can see the original painting below. I am more drawn to the stitched piece than I am to the oil painting!

Sketchbook Mandala

I believe everyone should keep a small notebook with them to capture thoughts, ideas, images that inspire in. I often find myself drawing patterns in my sketchbook- the fiber artist in me I guess- and this is what I end up with-

One thing always leads to another in life, and so it is nice to keep the ideas and memories around for the next thing to come along!

More patterned stones

Greetings all!

I am having way too much fun with my ridiculous collection of stones and fine point sharpies! I promised many folks patterned stones in exchange for their support on my Kickstarter, and I am working away on accumulating a large collection to share.

Another moment in my day-

A truly magnificent ray of sunshine. It is February in Massachusetts and a balmy 59 degrees- crazy!

Moving a house!

I am so proud of my little town today! We picked up a pre-revolutionary house and moved it to a new location to rescue it from being torn down. I don't know if you've ever seen a house being moved, but it's quite a sight!

You never know where inspiration will come from next. Maybe I will have to do some historical home paintings again to use in a new series- Beacon Hill homes...... Maybe.

Cherry Pie goodness!

Hey everyone,

I have been painting pies today! I am torn, however, on the best pie for a cross stitch pattern. What do you think?

Part of me loves the blackbird poking it's head out (it's a pie vent- you know, to let the steam out)-

The second one is a top down view of a pie-

And the third one is a pair of pies-

Which one?

This will be the final piece in the "recipe" series- this recipe, of course, being a cherry pie!

Many thanks!

Well all of you wonderful, supportive, loyal friends- we did it! The Kickstarter succeeded in making enough money just in the nick of time!

I will now hunker down and start the challenging, yet extremely satisfying work of producing the charts and designing the final packaging for the kits. More to come soon, including pictures.

I am flying on such a high right now- honestly- something deep inside me is emerging and I feel like I am poised to succeed!

Happy, happy Valentines Day to everyone- remember to tie a red ribbon around your cat and consume sweets all day long!

This is a picture from our trip to Paris- lovely sweets!

And finally, a small thank you-

What would you think if I sang out of tune
Would you stand up and walk out on me
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song
and I'll try not to sing out of key

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm, Gonna try with a little help from my friends

What do I do when my love is away
Does it worry you to be alone
How do you feel by the end of the day
Are you sad because you're on your own

No, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Mm,Gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody
I need somebody to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love

Would you believe in a love at first sight
Yes, I'm certain that it happens all the time
What do you see when you turn out the light
I can't tell you, but I know it's mine

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, I get high with a little help from my friends
Oh, Gonna try with a little help from my friends

Do you need anybody
I just need someone to love
Could it be anybody
I want somebody to love

Oh, I get by with a little help from my friends
Mm, Gonna try with a little help from my friends
Oh, I get high with a little help from my friends

2 days and counting!

The Kickstarter is now counting down in hours- not in days! Can you say holy scary development? I am encouraged by the outpouring of support- thank you! But I must say, I am stitching like mad to calm my nerves!

The fabulous people in my life are rising up and supporting me- a magical thing! Not for nothing, but my family, neighbors, clients, and friends are super!

I believe I am almost 70% funded so it is within reach- but the pressure is on.

I am posting a picture of the piece I am stitching- the Cherries! It sort of looks like a heart at the moment- consider it a Valentine for you!

Much gratitude to everyone-

3 days left!

On the suggestion of friends- A quick explanation of the motivation behind my new Needlework business- I, as many of you know, am a massage therapist and artist. Many clients come in overwhelmed and stressed from multi-tasking their way through life. We MUST slow down. Stitching is a beautiful way to accomplish this- you cannot stitch (well) while talking on a cell phone, or looking at emails. I call it forced "single-tasking"- a chance to let you mind rest and make something with your hands.
Please consider helping me aquire the last few thousand dollars necessary to see this project happen. I have put many thousands into it already- this is just the finish line i am trying to cross.

And here is a picture of my daughter's lakefront at her camp- her place to go and just be.

Thank in advance for your help!

5 days to go!

I am 55% funded now! I had a friend email and ask what this was all about, which leads me to believe I have not been very clear on my explanation. If you click on the link below and watch the video, it may become more clear. If you have questions- please ask!

Paris Window will be one of the Paris series, and hopefully I will be getting the finished stitched piece to show soon!

If you are thinking of helping, the link is:

The great thing about the Kickstarter has been the outpouring of interest and support from so many different people from so many different parts of my life.

Many thanks!

More than 50% funded!

This is exciting- I had lost hope, but things are picking up again!

The countdown begins- 6 days to go before the Kickstarter ends.

Below are two sugar paintings- help me decide- which one should I use?

Help me decide!

Thanks for being there for me and putting up with my kickstarter posts!

Patterned Stones

Ok- let's sweeten the deal- if you donate 25.00 or more to the Kickstarter (and this includes everyone who has already donated) you will also receive a one of a kind patterned stone, along with the other gift listed already. I am decorating stones to display in the booth at the show this spring, and thought they would be fun to share!

Comments are welcome!

I am just now finally figuring out why comments were not posting to my blog! The problem is solved, and I would truly love to hear from any of you out there about the posts in the future! It's nice to know there are people out there viewing the posts!

Another painting under consideration for the cross stitch recipe series-

NPR spokesperson!

An NPR radio personality is what I now feel like coming into the home stretch of this Kickstarter! They told me that the donations come in heavy at the beginning and again at the end, and now I see they are right! If I do not meet my goal, no money will be debited from anyone's credit cards. Please, if you were thinking of doing it, consider watching the video again and help me realize this dream!
Below is a new painting which will be part of the cross stitch collection-
