Paris!

Bon jour!

We have arrived in Paris and I have made it through my first day of class at Ecole Lesage, where I am learning haute couture embroidery.  We arrived and found the apartment we rented in the 9th arrondissement to be perfect.  We spent the first day walking from cafe to cafe trying to keep ourselves awake until 9PM to kill the jet lag.
It worked!  After 12 hours of sleep, I felt great!
I am starting with basic embroidery techniques, and then moving on the the advanced work later this week.

Beginning at the civilized time of 9:30AM, I had a lunch break and then continued to 5PM yesterday.  Needless to say, I was totally thrilled and exhausted at the same time by the end of the first day.
For lunch, I met up with a friend's son- a baroque opera singer!- for lunch. Zach was such a great guy.  We drank wine and ate traditional french food- poulette and frites- yup, chicken and french fries.  I loved every minute of it.

Ok, off to stitch (I have hours of homework every night).

Pictures will come soon.
