This is oil on panel. I have collected nests over the years and chose one to paint today. Much of the materials in bird's nests are man made, and this one is no exception.
In class we are focusing on black and white studies. We are learning about form rather than details. As important as that is, I also enjoy working on the gestural effects of an object, and the nests affords me this freedom.
