Four Figs

I am taking a break from landscapes and redirecting to still life painting for today. Figs are such a rich color- and because of their shape, tend to nestle up to one another nicely.

I have been struggling with backgrounds for a while now, but recently heard an interview with Carol Marine, another daily painter, where she said she always uses fabrics as drop clothes, and never makes it up.
