New York City

To start with, a lovely Central Park horse..l.l

And next, the abundant offerings at a typical market...

And finally, the trade show.....

We were not really supposed to be taking pictures, so I just took a few shots to get ideas for my booth in Columbus, Ohio this spring. In the first one, she used brown Kraft paper on her walls, which I have been considering. In the second, she painted the walls with flat black paint and wrote on them like a chalkboard, and the third had really sweet porcelain, but the picture didn't come out as clear as I had hoped! Anyhow, fun show- saw some old friends from RISD and some new ones as well!

Looking forward to the TNNA show this spring!

Off to New York!

I am going to NYC tonight to spend the weekend walking the New York International Gift Fair. Why, might you ask, would I do such a crazy thing? I am scoping out the show to start brainstorming a booth for when I arrive there next year with my paintings and cross stitch collection! Wish me (and my feet) luck!
Pictures will follow when I return.
And just in case you were dying to contribute to my Kickstarter, here is the link.

Time is running out- I have a couple more weeks to raise a bit more than half of the money. If I succeed, the biggest difference will be that I can go to the big needlework trade show in Columbus, Ohio and hit the ground running with my own booth and a full line of patterns!

Thanks everyone- I couldn't do this without you!

Giving the Kickstarter a boost!

I have decided to add another gift- this time at the 50.00 level. If you pledge 50.00, you will receive a print of my "Red Awning" painting- 11x17, printed on high quality archival paper.

The days are ticking away, and the Kickstarted has stalled! In order to succeed, I need about 50 of you to pledge something- anything. I thank you with all my heart, in advance, and hope this new gift will appeal to some new folks who might otherwise not have a strong urge to stitch!

Kickstarter!

I have launched a Kickstarter! What is a Kickstarter you ask? Kickstarter is a website that allows artists, inventors, musicians, filmmakers to raise dollars for launching a new project.
The way it works is that many people donate small dollars to a project rather than one or two grants or large commitments. When you donate you receive something in return- the level of donation decides the gift.
I launched 2 days ago and initially had a fantastic response. Thank you to all of the early donors! And thank you to anyone who can help me meet my goal!

Please check it out- I made a small video with images of the cross stitch and my studio.

Wish me luck!

Stitched Pears!

I have just received my first finished piece from one of the fabulous stitchers who are working for me! Forgive the photographs- iPad photos will not be on the finished packages!

I am also posting a picture of the original watercolor that this piece was designed from!

More will follow soon. Happy 2012 to everyone!
